The present invention is also directed to a method for treating inflammation, inflammatory-related disorders, or pain, by administering ω-(methylsulfonyl)alkylamine or ω-(methyl sulfonyl)alkylamide, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt or solvate thereof to a subject in need thereof.
