<p>A reinforced concrete element (10) comprising a body of concrete (24) and a reinforcing structure embedded in the body, the reinforcing structure comprising a plurality of spaced apart reinforcing bars (22). The reinforcing structure further comprises at least one spacer (30) made of a light weight material such as plastic. The spacer (30) comprises retainment means (38) for keeping the plurality of reinforcing bars (22) in the reinforcing structure in place before and during curing of said concrete.
