PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve detection performance of a light intensity pattern of a paper sheet discrimination optical sensor device.SOLUTION: The paper sheet discriminating optical sensor device is provided with wiring boards (11, 12), brackets (41, 42) formed with a light diffusion chamber (53) and light reception chamber (58) separated from each other and mounted on the wiring boards (11, 12); light emission elements (21, 31) surface-mounted on the wiring boards (11, 12) within the light diffusion chamber (53); and light reception elements (37, 38) surface-mounted on the wiring boards (11, 12) within the light reception chamber (58). The light emission elements (21, 31) and light reception elements (37, 38) can be mounted on correct positions on the wiring boards (11, 12) with the accuracy of several micrometers, and the light reflected on a valuable paper (50) which is irradiated from the light emission elements (21, 31) and conveyed along a conveyance passage (55) is received by the light reception elements (37, 38), and thereby, the discrimination performance of the valuable paper (50) can be improved. |
