A pneumatic tire (100) includes first and second laterally spaced sides (102, 104), and a tread interposed between the sides (102, 104). The tread includes a tread surface (112) having at least one groove (122). The groove (122) includes first and second facing sidewalls (160) separated by a groove bottom surface (162). A series of serrations or ribs (170) extend over at least a portion of a height of the facing sidewalls (160). The serrations (170) extend at a non-perpendicular angle relative to the tread surface (112) and the serrations/ribs (170) on the first and second sidewalls (160) of the groove (122) are opposed to each other. |
