<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic keyboard musical instrument which releases natural key-releasing sound when key is released after a certain lapse of time after the key was pressed, or even when key is released immediately after the key was pressed. <P>SOLUTION: Basic musical sound data 2a is read by a control part 6 according to the pitch data at the timing of key pressing, and velocity is set to velocity data upon key pressing. The musical sound is released by an output part 7 via a channel assigned to the pitch. Also, at the timing of key releasing, if a comparison result, such that measurement period is equal to or less than a threshold, is obtained in a comparison part 5, the second musical sound data 2c of key releasing is read from a musical sound data storage 2.
