[Class 53] A battery plate, particularly for alkaline accumulators, comprise a perforated sheet-metal rectangular envelope a for enclosing the active material and a metal wire connecting stem d located along the inside of one edge and projecting from one end of the envelope, the latter being formed with an extension c adapted to embrace the projecting part of the' stem. After the envelope has been packed with active material the flap b is pressed down to cover the material and the free edges of the envelope are turned over the flap to secure it in position. The free edges of the extension c are folded around the projecting part of the stem d. |
