<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a separator for a nonaqueous secondary battery including a porous substrate and a heat-resistant layer covering the surface of the substrate, in which the moisture being brought into the body of a nonaqueous secondary battery can be reduced, and deterioration of battery capacity thereof can be prevented effectively. <P>SOLUTION: The heat-resistant layer is formed by coating the surface of the substrate with a pasty coating liquid for the heat-resistant layer, containing ceramics, a thickner and a dispersant.
