<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform an image reading operation which is specialized in a calibration scan when the calibration scan is instructed. <P>SOLUTION: In a scanner processing unit 200 of an image reading apparatus, a scanner control unit 201 distinguishes an operational mode and a measuring mode of an instructed scan by a mode discrimination unit 202. When the operational mode is a normal scan, a gain adjustment, an offset adjustment, and shading compensation are performed for an image reading result, based on information obtained at the time of power ON. When the operational mode is the calibration scan, the gain adjustment, the offset adjustment, and the shading compensation are performed for the image reading result, based on information newly obtained. At this time, obtaining of the information for the gain adjustment and the shading compensation is performed after lighting an illumination lamp and waiting only for time corresponding to a measuring mode held by a parameter holding unit 203. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT</p> |
