<p>The present invention relates to apparatus useful in the removal of cables, especially electrical cables, allowing the mitigation of safety hazards present in such operations. The present disclosure covers a collar 10 for use in the manipulation of cables comprising a body formed from a suitably flexible electrical insulator material comprising a substantially tubular handle section 12 with a central bore 14 running through the centre of the collar, through which the cable can be placed. The handle may have a grip portion (20, Fig 1), which is textured to increase friction, and a smooth inner surface (18, Fig 1). The apparatus may include a first flared end portion 24 on a first end of the handle section and a second flared end portion 34 on a second end of the handle section. The collar may also be used to identify the cables to be removed.</p> |
