The method involves sending a request to a centralized data containing information about the condition of parking spaces. The centralized data detects the available parking spaces in a vehicle section and the information is sent to the tolling units or electronic data transmission unit. A tolling unit (1) or electronic data transmission unit has bidirectional communication interface, a processing unit and a storage unit. Independent claims are included for the following: (1) a device for providing information of available parking space in parking areas; and (2) a system with an information providing device for determining available parking space of the parking area and for sending information over a bi-directional communication interface depending on information of the device received over the communication interface.
