Provided are a method and an apparatus for controlling an electrical motor of a vehicle by adaptively selecting an operating point. The apparatus for controlling an electrical motor controls the electrical motor by performing a step of measuring a D-axis voltage a Q-axis voltage, and torque according to current magnitudes and current angles in a predetermined motor speed, a step of generating output data using the D-axis voltage, the Q-axis voltage and the torque measured by a map extraction tool, a step of selecting an operating point according to magnitudes of a motor speed of the output data, and a step of determining a final current reference map according to the determined operating points. |
