<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a honeycomb structure capable of removing the particulate contained in the exhaust discharged from a gasoline engine, capable of suppressing increase of a pressure drop, and improved in temperature elevation performance. <P>SOLUTION: The honeycomb structure includes the porous partitions 5 that compart and form a plurality of cells 4 being the flow channels of a fluid extending from an upstream edge to a downstream edge, and the partitions 5 that compart and form the cells 4 are bent in the cross section at which the end of the downstream edge is cut perpendicular to the flow direction of the fluid. The profile line of a bent side 10a which is a portion comprising the bent partition 5 forms a wavy line shape resulting from a fact such that two or more irregularities formed on the tip of the partition 5 is projected in a projected figure when scaling up the end of the bent side 10a-formed side to 50 times on a plane perpendicular to the flow direction of the fluid and projecting. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
