<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To decrease a range of variation in quality, when the end surface of the outer peripheral end part of a glass substrate for a magnetic disk is polished. <P>SOLUTION: The method is for manufacturing a glass substrate for a magnetic disk. The method has an end-surface polishing process which performs mirror polishing by means of a brush polishing method, by using a plurality of rotary brushes which are arranged so that they may contact the outer peripheral end surface of an annular glass substrate for a magnetic disk. In addition, in the end-surface polishing process, the plurality of rotary brushes are each replaced alternately by a new one, for each prescribed number of batches so that the plurality of rotary brushes add constant polishing force to the outer peripheral end part. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
