The cooling module 1000 comprises a first heat exchanger 100, second heat exchanger 200, third heat exchanger 300 and a fan and shroud assembly (600, figure 3) arranged in series in an airflow direction. The three heat exchangers each have respective tubes that pass respective heat exchange medium through the heat exchangers. Flow of medium through the first heat exchanger is perpendicular to flow of medium through the second heat exchanger and parallel with flow of medium through the third heat exchanger. Preferably the first and third heat exchangers comprise a condenser and a vehicle engine radiator, respectively, with the second heat exchanger being used to cool electronic components of the vehicle. Header tanks 110,120,310,320 may be mounted on opposing lateral sides of the condenser and radiator with header tanks 210,220 of the second heat exchanger being mounted on upper and lower ends thereof. This can provide a compact cooling module (figure 3), with the header tanks of the second heat exchanger being provided between the header tanks of the condenser and radiator. A viscous liquid, gasket (400b, figure 11) and/or frame (400c, figure 11) may be used to space the heat exchangers from one another. |
