<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an independent structure that reliably prevents the intrusion of rainwater from a gap between a roof and a wall surface of an architectural structure. <P>SOLUTION: An independent structure includes a roof separated from a wall surface of an architectural structure, and a gap filling member provided in the wall surface. The gap filling member includes an attaching member and a sheet-like cover member.
