<p>The present invention addresses the problem of providing an acoustically-emitting, flat-type speaker unit of a specified stability and having a simple structure and a large output. In contrast to conventional flat-type speaker units, the flat-type speaker unit comprises: a vibrating plate having an outer peripheral section that forms an outline from a plurality of straight lines and a plurality of bent lines that are joined alternately; a frame having an opening disposed therein formed by an inner peripheral section that forms an outline of the alternately joined plurality of straight lines and plurality of bent lines; an edge which is an annular elastic member having an outer peripheral section and an inner peripheral section and is fixed to the inner peripheral section of the frame and to the outer peripheral section of the vibrating plate; and a voice coil-type actuator. The vibrating plate is fitted into the opening of the frame such that the outer peripheral section of the vibrating plate and the inner peripheral section of the frame do not come in contact. The gap at a location between a pair of end sections from the bent lines in the outer peripheral section of the vibrating plate and the bent lines in the inner peripheral section of the frame is made so as to be larger than the gap between the straight lines in the outer peripheral section of the vibrating plate and the straight lines in the inner peripheral section of the frame.</p> |
