Disclosed is a drive-system coolant conduit 12 for a liquid-cooled system 10 comprising a tubular body 16 defining a flow path F, a heat sink element 14, at least part of which is immersed in the flow path in an engaged condition, and an attachment means for attaching an object 22 to be cooled thereto, such that the attachment means is in liquid isolation from the flow path and is accessible by a user without compromising said liquid isolation. The heat sink element may be a fluid-impermeable housing releasably attachable to the conduit body, the attachment means being located within the housing, or an elongate recess formed as a cavity in the conduit body. Also claimed is a liquid-cooled system for a drivable machine, a motor vehicle and a method of cooling at least part of an electrically operable device of a motor vehicle. The invention utilises an existing drive system coolant circuit to cool electrical components, such as electromechanical actuator controllers, subject to heat produced by the drive system in operation. |
