<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a belt conveyance device and an image forming apparatus using the same which achieve stable belt conveyance by suppressing damage of a belt and preventing meandering movement of the belt. <P>SOLUTION: A belt conveyance device 20 which conveys an intermediate transfer belt 21 comprises a belt meandering sensor 24 for detecting a position of the intermediate transfer belt 21 in a belt width direction, a steering roller 23 for adjusting a position of the intermediate transfer belt 21 in a belt width direction, and a steering roller position control section 25. The steering position control section 25 includes steering roller position adjustment means 251, steering roller position calculation means 252, storage means 253 to store a position of the steering roller 23 where the intermediate transfer belt 21 meanders least, and steering roller position setting means 254 to set the steering roller 23 at the position stored with the storage means 253 where the intermediate transfer belt 21 meanders least. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT</p> |
