A terminal for an electrical connector has two spring-loaded limbs which press the bared end 22 of a wire against a confronting surface. The first limb 20 provides resistance to withdrawal of the wire, for example by digging into it, while the second limb 21 provides less resistance. Thus two contact points are provided but a tool need only release one if the wire is to be withdrawn. The limbs may be opposite ends of a spring 17 mounted within a conductive terminal insert 18 which also provides the confronting surface. The connector may also provide a resilient cable grip 14, 15. The terminals connect the wires to another connector by interface connections 13.
|
