The present invention relates to an antiobesity composition containing, as an active ingredient, a biaryl amide derivative having a particular structure. Specifically, the present invention relates to a pharmaceutical composition containing methyl 4-(4-methylbenzamido)benzoate for preventing or treating obesity or obesity-caused metabolic disease, or a functional health food for preventing or treating obesity or obesity-caused metabolic disease. The biaryl amide derivative of the present invention exhibits excellent antiobesity activity compared with genistein or resveratrol. |
