The present invention relates to new Lactobacillus fermentum having activity of enhancing immunity and a product including the same as an active ingredient. According to the present invention, Lactobacillus fermentum induces generation of TNF-αand NO in a macrophage (Raw264.7) of a mouse and also induces generation of TNF-α, IFN-γ, IL-12 in a human peripheral blood mononuclear cell (PBMC). Therefore, the Lactobacillus fermentum has activity of enhancing immunity. The Lactobacillus fermentum can be used for various products having an effect of enhancing immunity such as a pharmaceutical composition for treating and/or preventing autoimmune diseases, health functional food, a functional beverage, a fermented product and the like which include the Lactobacillus fermentum as an active ingredient.
