<p>The present invention relates to a method for extracting characteristic information of convective precipitation using weather radar data, and a method for forecasting convective precipitation using the same, and more specifically, to the method for extracting characteristic information of convective precipitation such as the number of peaks of precipitation, rainfall intensity at the peaks, accumulated rainfall, rainfall duration, etc. from each precipitation sample obtained based on one-minute weather radar data, and a method for forecasting convective precipitation according to accumulated rainfall predicted based on characteristic information of convective precipitation extracted. The method for extracting characteristic information of convective precipitation using weather radar data of the present invention comprises the steps of: extracting one-minute rainfall intensity from weather radar data; calculating synthetic radar data values of each geographical grid using the extracted one-minute rainfall intensity; generating accumulated rainfall (R_ac) data of each precipitation sample based on the data values; classifying characteristic information of precipitation for each number of peaks of precipitation (N_peak); deducing correlations between accumulated rainfall and other characteristic information of precipitation from among characteristic information of precipitation; and forecasting characteristics of convective precipitation on the basis of the correlations.</p> |
