摘要 A surgical instrument configured to deliver electrical energy to tissue of a patient includes a handle, a first conductor, and a second conductor. The surgical instrument further includes a first electrode with a first distal portion, a second electrode with a second distal portion, and a third electrode with a third distal portion, wherein each distal portion is configured to contact the tissue. The second distal portion surrounds the first distal portion and the third distal portion surrounds the second distal portion. A first gap is defined between the first distal portion and the second distal portion. A second gap is defined between the second distal portion and the third distal portion. The first electrode includes a sharp end configured to penetrate the tissue and the second distal portion includes a plurality of projections extending toward third distal portion.

A surgical instrument configured to deliver electrical energy to tissue of a patient, comprising: a handle; a first conductor configured to be electrically coupled with a power source; a second conductor configured to be electrically coupled with the power source; a first electrode comprising a first distal portion configured to contact the tissue, wherein said first electrode is electrically coupled with said first conductor; a second electrode comprising a second distal portion configured to contact the tissue, wherein said second distal portion surrounds said first distal portion, wherein a first gap is defined between said first distal portion and said second distal portion, and wherein said second electrode is electrically coupled with said second conductor; a third electrode comprising a third distal portion configured to contact the tissue, wherein said third distal portion surrounds said second distal portion, wherein a second gap is defined between said second distal portion and said third distal portion, and wherein said third electrode is electrically coupled with said first conductor; and wherein said first electrode comprises a sharp end, wherein said sharp end is configured to penetrate the tissue, and wherein said second distal portion comprises a plurality of projections extending toward said third distal portion.
