PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To safely shut down a radiation tomography apparatus with a liquid bearing based radiation tube while suppressing the shortening of the service life of the radiation tube.SOLUTION: A control method for radiation tomography apparatus performs: a step of controlling a gantry rotation part and a radiation tube such that at a shutdown, the gantry rotation part is started to rotate at a predetermined speed Vg2 slower than that at main scanning of the gantry rotation part (time t1), the rotation stop control of the rotor is started after elapse of a predetermined delay time &Dgr;t1 from the time t1 (time t2), and the gantry rotation part is stopped in the home position after the rotation of the rotor is stopped (time t4); and a step of setting the speed Vg2 and/or the delay time &Dgr;t1 such that when the shutdown is performed plural times, the rotation angle position of the gantry rotation part averagely varies when the rotor stops rotation. This allows the damage to the bearing of the radiation tube to be distributed and prevents the suspension of the gantry rotation part during the shutdown.
