PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow a user to easily understand the contents of a page of a document and shorten a period of time to the start of display of a printing preview image.SOLUTION: Provided is a preview image generation program which operates in a preview image generation device for generating a printing preview image of a document. The preview image generation program causes the preview image generation device to execute: an order setting step of receiving and analyzing data of a document input, extracting the type and size of data of objects used in each page of the document, and setting a processing order according to the type of objects, or one or a plurality of objects, in ascending order of the data size; and an image generation step of generating layer images according to the type of objects, or one or the plurality of objects in accordance with the processing order, and sequentially outputting the data of the layer images generated. |
