A microscope objective comprises a thick negative meniscus having a thickness d 1 which is greater than half r 1 and at least three further members following the meniscus at spacings which were in each case smaller than the central thickness of the preceding member, a further negative member at the image side spaced a distance which is at least as great as the focal length of the objective from the preceding member, the objective having two collecting cemented surfaces r 12 , r 15 , which are concave to the object. Optical data are given for one example of objective shown. |
