<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a user authentication system capable of carrying out user authentication of a user who uses an electronic device without requiring a special operation performed by the user.SOLUTION: A human body communication device 3 of a user authentication system 1 notifies an electronic device 5 that an output of a load sensor 33 for measuring a load applied to a seat surface of a chair 6 exceeds a prescribed value when the output of the load sensor 33 exceeds the prescribed value, allowing human body communication, after which communication between a portable terminal 2 and the electronic device 5 is relayed. The electronic device 5, upon being notified that the output of the load sensor 33 exceeds the prescribed value, performs communication with the portable terminal 2 via the human body communication device 3, carries out user authentication of a user who has seated on the chair 6, and transitions a state of the electronic device 2 to an unlock state when the user authentication succeeds.</p> |
