<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently provide a polyester resin having excellent thermal stability and a low content of terminal carboxy groups.SOLUTION: The present invention relates to a polyester resin obtained by containing dicarboxylic acid or dicarboxylic acid alkyl ester and diol as main raw materials, wherein the polyester resin contains a metal halide represented by the following formula (i) and having a purity of higher than 95%, with the formula (i): MX(M: alkali metal or copper, X: bromine or iodine, n=1 or 2).</p> |
