<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cheap and easy method to separate polyphenol with fewer hydroxyl groups from polyphenolic mixture which contains a gallate group and in which numerical difference of hydroxyl group is one, without requiring an expensive device and filler.SOLUTION: A method to separate polyphenol with fewer hydroxyl groups selectively from polyphenolic mixture which contains a gallate group and in which numerical difference of hydroxyl group is one has a step of distributing the polyphenolic mixture more than twice by a separation solvent containing water and organic solvents in a ratio of 10/1 - 50/1. The organic solvent contains middle chain alcohol or ethyl acetate. The polyphenol containing the gallate group is catechin.</p> |
