PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coating device and a coating method capable of accurately controlling a coating state of paint on a substrate.SOLUTION: In a coating device 1, an excess portion Pa wider than a coating width W1 is removed by squeegees 6 after electrode paste P is transferred to a metal foil 11, and adjustment is performed to have a desired coating width W1. Therefore, both of spreading of the electrode paste P caused by leakage of the electrode paste P from a dam 2 and spreading of the electrode paste P when transferred to the metal foil 11 from a coating roll 3 can be eliminated in the coating device 1. The coating width W1 is adjusted by the squeegees 6 after the transfer to the metal foil 11 to thereby suppress height fluctuation of an end of the electrode paste P caused by surface tension, etc. by contact of the squeegees 6 with the end of the electrode paste P. |
