PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance user's convenience.SOLUTION: A communication system comprises a portable terminal and a communication device which are communicatively interconnected. The portable terminal comprises: an acceleration detection unit; a determination unit which determines whether an object holding the portable terminal moves by a predetermined movement method, on the basis of detection output by the acceleration detection unit; a positioning unit which executes positioning processing, when the determination unit determines that the object moves by the predetermined movement method; and a notification unit which notifies the communication device of position data acquired by the positioning processing and possibility of theft of the object, when the determination unit determines that the object moves by the predetermined movement method.
