DECORATIVE YARN AND METHOD OF PRODUCING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stably provide a decorative yarn low in cost and excellent in designability.SOLUTION: There is provided a method of producing a decorative yarn that comprises a core-sheath conjugate fiber of a polyamide component in a core part and a polyester component in a sheath part. In the method, each of components, the polyamide component in the core part having a relative viscosity [ηr] of 2.0-6.0 and the polyester component in the sheath part having an intrinsic viscosity of 0.2-1.0 [η], is molten, then extruded to an eccentric type core-sheath spinneret to perform composite spinning so that the degree of eccentricity becomes 15% or greater, cooled, then thermally drawn and wound. Thus, a decorative yarn is produced having actual crimp performance and crimps with the number of crimps in a non-loaded state is two or more/cm.
