PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coated molded article having both of wear resistance and high scratch hardness, and to provide a method for producing the coated molded article having a silica layer, in which a silica layer of the coated molded article is formed efficiently.SOLUTION: The method for producing the coated molded article 10 includes a step of arranging two or more cured product layers on at least a part of the surface of a base material 11 having a synthetic resin. The step of arranging two or more cured product layers comprises the steps of: applying a coating composition (A) containing a polyfunctional compound (a) having two or more polymerizable functional groups to the surface side of the base material 11, to form the cured product layer being an inner layer 12; applying a coating agent (B) containing polysilazane and a photobase generating agent (p) to the surface of the inner layer 12; and irradiating the applied coating agent (B) with a predetermined active energy ray to form the cured product layer being an outer layer 13.
