<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a device which prints on a medium efficient by avoid wasting consumer goods and a time in printing nearby an end of the medium.SOLUTION: A printer 1 includes a conveyance part which conveys a label form 100 having a label 103, a print head 40 arranged on a conveyance path 110, and a form detector 61 and a label detector 63. When the end edge of the label form 100 is detected, the printer 1 specifies the position of the end edge of the label form 100, and determines whether printing on the label 103 can be completed based upon the specified position of the end edge of the label form 100. When determining that the printing cannot be completed, the printer 1 stops the printing by the print head 40, or conveys the label form 100 without carrying out the printing on the label 103.</p> |
