<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer and printing method capable of enhancing ink transfer accuracy for a printing object.SOLUTION: A printer is provided with an elastic body disposed on an outer peripheral surface of a plate cylinder 33. The elastic body has protrusions 6 on its surface in an axial direction of the plate cylinder. To adjust each pitch P2 of the protrusions 6 to be equal to a basic pitch P1, the elastic body applies tension to an expanded letterpress plate 50b in a circumferential direction using a tension application mechanism 70 to cause the letterpress plate 50b to be expanded in the circumferential direction and contracted in a width direction.</p> |
