PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the durability of a clutch while suppressing the push-out of a vehicle at a restart of an engine.SOLUTION: When an engine 2 is restarted by fuel injection, a controller 9 determines whether or not a drive force at the restart of the engine 2 reaches an allowable drive force or larger on the basis of a vehicle speed and a gear change ratio of a variator 10, and when determining that the drive force at the restart of the engine 2 reaches the allowable drive force or larger, the controller changes a torque capacity of a forward clutch 21 at the restart of the engine 2 by the fuel injection to a torque capacity or lower at which the push-out of a vehicle 1 is permitted.
