PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To sufficiently use the respective rating quantities of illumination light beams in an endoscope apparatus of a face sequential system.SOLUTION: An endoscope apparatus 1 comprises: an imaging device 20 provided at a leading end 13 of an endoscope insertion part 10; an illuminating device 22 that sequentially emits illumination light beams of different spectra from the leading end of the endoscope insertion part and can independently control the respective quantities of illumination light beams; an illumination control section 52 that sets a target quantity of each of illumination light beams for the illuminating device; and imaging control sections 33, 50, and 52 that compensate for insufficiency of a signal level resulting from an insufficient quantity of light, with respect to the target quantity of light, of an image signal output from the imaging device when imaging is carried out under illumination light insufficient with respect to the target quantity of light after reaching a rating quantity of light. |
