Heading B1R: Air is humidified by contact with an elongated brush moulded for rotation so that the lower portion of the brush clips into a body of water, the shaft 50 on which the brush rotates being formed of wires 52 twisted together as shown and holding the filaments of the brush in place. The filaments of the brush are preferably crimped and made of a synthetic resin fibre. The brush is rotated at between 0.5 and 10. 0 revolutions per minute.
