PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the discoloration of a fluorine-containing polymer solution including a fluorine-containing polymer containing a carboxyl group just after it is produced and to achieve good storage stability.SOLUTION: In a method for producing a fluorine-containing polymer solution including (A) a fluorine-containing polymer having a carboxyl group by reacting (X) a fluorine-containing polymer having a hydroxyl group and (Y) a polybasic acid anhydride produced from a polybasic acid having two or more carboxylic groups, the fluorine-containing polymer (X) and the polybasic acid anhydride (Y) are reacted in (B) an organic solvent containing (B1) a polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon in a ratio of 0.1-50,000 mass ppm. A method for producing a fluorine-containing coating material composition comprises adding a specific curing agent (C) to the fluorine-containing polymer solution produced by the production method as mentioned above. |
