PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projector of which the cooling time can be reduced in accordance with a use state and a use environment.SOLUTION: A projector includes: a light source 8; a cooling fan 9; a light source temperature storage unit 4 in which a plurality of pieces of temperature data Tare preliminarily stored; a light source temperature selection unit 5 which selects temperature data Tfrom the light source temperature storage unit 4 on the basis of a load state of the projector; an intake air temperature detection unit 10 which detects an intake air temperature T; a cooling time reference table 11 in which cooling times are preliminarily stored in association with temperature data Tand intake air temperatures T; and a cooling fan control unit 6 which refers to the cooling time reference table 11 to determine a cooling time on the basis of the temperature data Tselected by the light source temperature selection unit 5 and the intake air temperature Tdetected by the intake air temperature detection unit and controls the cooling fan 9 to perform cooling processing for the cooling time. |
