PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To quantitatively evaluate an oppression feeling given to an occupant at a front seat from an instrument panel.SOLUTION: Within a range of a predetermined distance assuming a distance from an occupant J at a front seat to the vicinity of a rear end of an instrument panel 3, a horopter plane H where an actual distance is the same or nearly the same as a perception distance felt by the occupant J at the front seat is stored in a database as a perception plane. In a planned instrument panel, a volume of a part protruding rearward from the perception plane is calculated as a protrusion volume. An evaluation value for an oppression feeling is determined using the protrusion volume as a parameter.
