<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology capable of detecting a subject with higher accuracy.SOLUTION: Each of a plurality of subject detection parts performs subject detection processing for detecting a subject region from a supplied image. A subject region determination part determines a final subject region by majority processing based on subject regions detected by each of the subject detection processes performed several times. For instance, as the subject detection processing performed several times, the subject detection processing of the same processing contents for images having mutually different resolution values or the subject detection processing of mutually different processing contents for images having the same resolution is performed. This technique can be applied to a digital still camera.</p> |
