<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that can appropriately stop heating even when a part of a fixing belt is damaged.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus includes image forming means for forming toner images on recording media, and fixing means for holding and conveying the recording media with an endless fixing belt heated by heating means and a pressure roller to fix unfixed toner formed on the recording media with the image forming means; and is provided with power supply means for supplying a high-frequency power at a predetermined frequency to the heating means, supply power detection means for detecting the value of the high-frequency power supplied to the heating means, and control means for detecting abnormality of the fixing belt on the basis of a change in the value of the high-frequency power detected by the supply power detection means and controlling the power supply means. The fixing belt includes a conductor layer that generates an eddy current by electromagnetic induction generated by the high-frequency power supplied to the heating means and generates heat by the eddy current.</p> |
