PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air bag device for knee protection, in which a space for air bag deployment and inflation can be stably formed in the front side of a knee of an occupant.SOLUTION: An air bag device for knee protection comprises an air bag 25 and a front side panel 29. The panel 29 comprises a lower panel part 50 and an upper panel part 30, and is arranged in the front side of the lower limbs L of an occupant M. The air bag moves the upper panel part forward upon inflation, and deploys and inflates in a space S opened by the movement at the rear surface 30a side of the upper panel part. The upper panel part comprises a general part 31 at the upper part side and a ceiling wall part 41 at the lower side. The lower panel part, as a separate body from the upper panel, covers the rear side of the folded air bag. The upper panel part, by arranging confronting portions of the folded air bag at the ceiling wall part to the front side of a fixing portion 32 to the vehicle body 1 side of the general part, uses the confronting portions as a pressure receiving part 42 which receives the pressure of the air bag at the initial stage of inflation, and renders the vicinity of the fixing portion 32 of the general part a bending deformation part 34 upon forward movement accompanied with air bag inflation. |
