<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flap folding device and a flap folding method which can be mounted to a transporting device of an existing cardboard box, be excellent in convenience, and fold lateral flaps of cardboard boxes with various heights.SOLUTION: A flap folding device comprises a first lateral flap folding mechanism 40 for folding each lateral flap 24, 26 of a cardboard box 20 transported by a transporting part 10. The first lateral flap folding mechanism 40 includes folding members 42, 44 for folding while contacting with each lateral flap 24, 26 of the cardboard box 20 and folding member drive parts 48, 49 for moving the folding members 42, 44 in a direction orthogonal to the transporting direction of the cardboard box 20 by the transporting part 10 in a horizontal direction. The folding members 42, 44 are suspended from the folding member drive parts 48, 49 in a state of being spaced apart upward from the transporting part 10.</p> |
