PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vanadium solid salt battery having a high capacity and improved in its cycle characteristics.SOLUTION: A vanadium solid salt battery comprises a positive electrode and a negative electrode, each including a vanadium solid salt. The vanadium solid salt includes vanadium ions or cations including vanadium, a carbon material, a sulfuric acid, and a phosphoric acid or phosphate. The mole ratio of the phosphoric acid or phosphate to the sulfuric acid included in the vanadium solid salt for the positive electrode is 1:0.25 to 1:1.96. The mole ratio of the phosphoric acid or phosphate to the sulfuric acid included in the vanadium solid salt for the negative electrode is 1:0.082 to 1:0.333.
