PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a thermal transfer sheet having an excellent thermofusible ink layer, capable of suppressing the occurrence of so-called white streaks and pinholes even with use of a specific ink.SOLUTION: In the step of forming a thermofusible ink layer on one surface of a substrate sheet with a gravure printing apparatus in a method for manufacturing a thermal transfer sheet, the thermofusible ink for use includes a colorant, a binder resin, and a solvent. The gravure printing apparatus for use in the step has a ratio of the circumference of a furnisher roll to the circumference of the plate cylinder of 0.5 or more and 0.9 or less, with the plate cylinder having a circumference of 500 mm or more and 2700 mm or less. |
