PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an energy management apparatus and method capable of storing the power only when a power failure may occur and capable of ensuring a profit by selling the power.SOLUTION: A HEMS control unit HC includes a control section 10 that has a power storing mode in which the electric power from a photovoltaic power generation apparatus 42 is stored in a power storage device 41, and a power selling mode in which the electric power from the photovoltaic power generation apparatus 42 is sold to an electric power company. Receiving a DR request signal for requesting a demand response, the control section 10 switches from the power selling mode to the power storing mode. Also, receiving a DR reset signal for resetting the demand response, the control section 10 switches from the power storing mode to the power selling mode. |
