PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce risks of personal information leakage.SOLUTION: In a scanning device which can transmit an image file to an external device, when a size of a document to be read is equal to or smaller than a set size, an image file with a password is generated, and the image file is transmitted to the external device. Many of documents on which personal information is written such as a license or the like are in a card size, so that when the card size is set as the set size, the password is set to an image file of the license or the like. Thus, even when the image file of the license or the like is wrongly transmitted, risks of personal information leakage can be reduced. Also, when a setting condition is satisfied, an image file without a password may be generated. To be more specific, in transmitting an image file to a highly reliable external device, an image file without a password is generated even when a size of the document to be read is equal to or smaller than the set size. Thus, in the highly reliable external device, an image file can be used without using a password, which is convenient. |
