PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable response to a lateral-direction movement, a small-radius turn and the like, with a stable steering angle control, without employing a complex mechanism in a vehicle providing four wheels each with a steering angle.SOLUTION: A steering apparatus includes: a set of rack bars 53, 54 respectively connected to left and right wheels w in front or rear side; a synchronous gear 55 disposed intervening between the rack bars 53, 54; a synchronous gear box 66 for retaining the synchronous gear 55; a rack case 50 fixed to the synchronous gear box 66 on the frame side of a vehicle; and a fixing mechanism 67 for fixing the synchronous gear box 66 relative to the rack case 50. Further, when the left and right wheels w are steered in directions reverse to each other, the aforementioned fixing is performed by the fixing mechanism 67 so as to bring the left and right wheels w to target wheel angles quickly. |
